About the role:

  • The Centre Colony Manager resides in the Cruciform building, which houses the UK DRI for the core services staff at UCL. Approximately one hundred researchers and support staff are employed at various levels in the UK DRI at UCL at present, and this figure continues to increase. In addition to supplementary obligations associated with animal research at the UK DRI, the principal duty of this position is to maintain and oversee the animal colonies situated at UCL, the institution that accommodates the UK DRI. You will interact daily with researchers of all ranks and assist in the UK DRI’s research efforts.
  • As the principal liaison between the UK DRI and UCL’s biological services, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and supervising multiple transgenic mouse lines. In addition to assisting with daily operations, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with and timely updating of health and safety regulations. You will be instrumental in coordinating and executing the phased relocation of animal operations from the Bloomsbury Campus to the ION-DRI Greys Inn Road Hub over the subsequent two years.
