Overarching Duties: Cook and prepare an assortment of food items, such as meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and more, in accordance with the Daily Prep List. Utilize a diverse range of equipment and implements in the process.

Duties and Responsibilities of Prep Cook Jobs in Portugal

  • For assigned duties, consult the Daily Prep List at the beginning of each shift.
  • Equipment: Constructs a diverse selection of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items in preparation for cooking in a variety of culinary appliances, including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
  • Consistently comprehends and adheres to our established criteria for portion sizes, culinary techniques, and quality standards, as well as kitchen policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Food products should be portioned according to standard portion measurements and recipe specifications prior to cooking.
  • Sanitation entails the upkeep of a tidy and hygienic workstation environment, encompassing grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment, as well as shelves, walls, and tables.
  • Protocol: Adheres to the closing checklist for kitchen stations and ensures a correct kitchen closure. Assists individuals with the kitchen’s closure.
  • Team member who attends all employee meetings as scheduled and contributes development suggestions.
  • Effective Communication: Timely dissemination of equipment and food quality issues to the kitchen manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in culinary and kitchen preparation is required. (or a minimum of six months’ experience in a comparable role).
  • Effective communication with managers, kitchen and dining room staff, and visitors is an absolute necessity.
