Mission of the Position:
- Warranty Technicians will be required to collaborate with other team members to verify the operational integrity, dependability, and readiness for passenger service of the fleet of 3GT Birmingham Tram rolling stock vehicles.
- Providing technical support, defect detection, corrective action, adaptations, and campaigns for all tram systems. To increase overall dependability, the Team Leader will augment the number of workdays in concert with vehicle availability and KPIs. Resolving issues through close collaboration with individual system and component manufacturers.
- Tram failures are identified using electronic management systems, test and measuring equipment, diagnostic software, and electrical schematics. These tools are employed to implement corrective measures and restorations. While adhering to every safety precaution.
Functions and Responsibilities.
- Promptly perform root cause defect finding on vehicles and implement corrective actions to ensure the availability and dependability of passenger service. Systems consist of:
- Traction, OESS, and Brake
- PIS & CCTV
- Networks
- Passenger Access Doors
- HVAC systems
- Auxiliary electrical systems
- High-pressure hydraulics
- HV and Pantograph
- High Voltage Systems

- Event recording and on-board diagnostics.
- Bogies and gearboxes.
- Wiring and integrating circuit breakers, relays, transformers, insulators, cabinets, motors, and other electrical components.
- During service, utilize remote fleet management and diagnostic tools to monitor vehicle performance and notify the Team Leader of any anomalies.
- Act as an interim team leader when necessary.
- Execute fleet inspections, campaigns, and modifications as directed.
- Input precise data about all duties that have been finished into the computerized maintenance management system.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and procedures continuously.
- Adhere to CAF UK health and safety, quality, and environmental standards while maintaining a clean depot.
